Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
This recipe shows you how to make chocolate peanut butter bars. They are a delicious, rich treat for any occasion!
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound graham crackers (1 pack of a 3-pack box)
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 2 sticks (16 tablespoons) butter
- 3 cups confectioner's sugar
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar, light or dark
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
DOUGH:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In food processor fitted with a steel blade, grind graham crackers into crumbs.
- Then add peanut butter, 2 sticks of butter, confectioner's sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract for crust and process until a ball of dough forms.
- Turn crust into a 9 X 13-inch pan and spread it smooth with a spatula.
- Bake in the oven for about 5 to 10 minutes.
TOPPING:
- In a medium sauce pan, stir together chocolate chips, 3 tablespoons of butter and 3 tablespoons of milk over low heat until the chocolate is melted.
- Pour the topping over the crust while it is still warm.
- Then chill and, when firm, cut into squares.
