Pizza Burger Loaf
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground chuck
- 6 ounces can tomato paste
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 4 ounces can mushroom stems and pieces, drained
- 13-3/4 oz pkg hot roll mix
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 3/4 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 2 1/2 tsps salt
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 Tbsp. sesame seed (optional)
Instructions
In a large skillet, combine meamato paste, onion, mushrooms, flour, paprika, oregano, pepper, and salt. Cook over medium heat 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool 10 minutes. Prepare hot roll mix as for pizza dough, but add 1/2 tsp. salt. Roll dough into a 12 inch square; place on a greased cookie sheet. Spoon meat mixture down center third of dough to within 2 inches of each end. Shape meat into loaf; sprinkle loaf with cheese. Cut 6 diagonal strips fo dough (each 2 inches wide) on each side of meat. Fold dough ends over meat, then crisscross strips over top. Brush top of dough with beaten egg, sprinkle with sesame seed. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes or until top is golden brown.
