    Bread Dessert (rabananda)

    Ingredients

    • 3 quarts milk
    • 1 cup honey
    • 2-3 cinnamon sticks
    • grated peel of 1 lemon
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 2 loaves French bread
    • oil (for frying)
    • 12 eggs, beaten
    • cinnamon sugar

    Instructions

    4 dozen. Combine milk, honey, cinnamon sticks, lemon peel, salt, and sugar in large saucepan. Simmer for 1 hour. Remove from heat. Cut bread in 1/2 inch slices. Heat oil in skillet. Dip bread first in milk and honey mixture and then in eggs. Fry in oil until light brown. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Serve cold.
