I love cinnamon rolls anyway, so this tricked up version really hits the spot. Adding apples to the basic cinnamon roll is a great idea and then topping it with caramel sauce just makes it irresistible. It's kind of gilding the lily, but a little dollop of whipped cream on top would make this just about perfect.

Three of my favorite things-cinnamon rolls, apple pie, and caramel! This is such a great, easy recipe. I wish I would have found this recipe earlier. I made plain cinnamon rolls today, and these look so much better!

Is there anything better than baking with caramel apples in the fall? I didn't think so especially after seeing these awesome cinnamon rolls! Fresh apples may be easily substituted if you'd like to cut back on the added sugar of the canned apple filling. You can saut the apples until they're soft with a little bit of water and some spices like cinnamon and nutmeg to get a similar texture and flavor!
