Mother-In-Law's Cheese Strata

Ingredients

  • 6 slices white bread
  • 2 to 3 cups of shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 (4-ounce) can diced green chilies

Instructions

  1. Cut bread into small cubes. Layer bread and cheese in a buttered  7 x 10-inch baking dish.
     
  2. Beat together eggs, milk, chilis, salt and mustard. Pour over cheese and bread.
     
  3. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
     
  4. When ready to bake preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
     
  5. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes or until light and fluffy.
