I'm so used to breakfast casseroles that use sausage, eggs, and hash browns, I keep forgetting there's a whole batch of them that incorporate bread. This looks quite yummy and I should make it up sometime as a change from our usual breakfast bakes. I'm curious as to whether or not it's really necessary to chill it in the refrigerator overnight before baking. Does it really make that much of a difference? I appreciate the morning convenience, but a twelve hour refrigeration time seems a bit much.

Wow this looks really delicious. I'm from the UK and I've never seen a breakfast casserole recipe before. I love the idea that you can make everything the night before and serve your family something home cooked and delicious in the morning. I'm always in a real rush in the morning. Do you think you could pre cook it and then heat up portions in the microwave?
