Where does the name for the cake come from? I have never heard of a hummingbird cake before. I will have to give this a try. I love pecans and could eat them everyday. The bananas, pecans and pineapple sound good together. Kind of sounds like a banana split. Sounds yummy.

Instead of putting the pecans in the cake I sprinkled them on top of the frosting. I also added a cup of shredded coconut in the batter. YUMMMMM!
