Amish Style Peanut Brittle
Homemade peanut brittle is the best to have as a quick snack and great to give as a gift. Made with simple ingredients, this sweet and crunchy treat is a favorite among kids and adults. Make Amish Style Peanut Brittle for your friends and family. It's peanutty delicious.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces package of raw peanuts
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup white Karo syrup, or corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon baking soda, sifted
Instructions

Prep and grease a butteres cookie sheet.

Dissolve sugar with water and syrup in a large skillet. Cook until mixture spins a thread.

Add peanuts, salt and butter. Cook, stirring constantly, until a dark golden brown (about ten minutes).

Remove from heat and quickly stir in baking soda. Stir quickly and thoroughly.

Pour on lightly greased cookie sheets. Spread very thinly with heavy wooden spoon. Make sure to work quickly so nothing hardens before you want it to.
- When cool, break into pieces.
