These drumsticks are an exciting weeknight meal that will have you licking your fingers clean. The marinade is so delicious and tastes like the chicken has been slow cooked in as moker. For something so quick and easy, these really tick every box for the perfect meal. I recommend pairing these with some roasted veggies and steamed rice!

    Yields2 servings

    Ingredients

    • 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
    • 2 teaspoons (3 g) paprika
    • 2 teaspoons (3 g) smoked paprika
    • 2 tablespoons (10 g) Cajun seasoning
    • 2 teaspoons (3 g) chili powder
    • 2 teaspoons (6 g) garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
    • 3 1/2 tablespoons (53 ml) avocado or vegetable oil
    • 6 chicken drumsticks

    Directions

    1. Heat up the honey in the microwave for 20 seconds. In a large bowl, mix the honey, paprika, smoked paprika, Cajun seasoning, chili powder, garlic powder, pepper, salt and oil until a smooth red paste is formed. Add the drumsticks and score the chicken all over so the marinade flavors the chicken to the bone.

    2. Spray the air fryer with nonstick cooking spray, and then place the drumsticks inside. Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 8 minutes, and then flip and cook for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping every 5 minutes. Depending on the size of your drumsticks and the air fryer being used (I’ve noticed different air fryers cook slightly differently) you may have to keep an eye on the drumsticks towards the end. Cook until the internal temperature has reached 165°F (75°C).
