Grandma's Sour Cream Sugar Cookies
"These Sour Cream Sugar Cookies are soft and fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness — they’re perfect with or without frosting and make a great freezer-friendly holiday cookie! These Sour Cream Cookies are not the difficult, finnicky cookies that require hours of rolling, cutting, baking, and decorating. They are a soft sugar cookie made with sour cream, and they have a fluffy, delicate texture that I find much more appealing. A simple colored frosting and maybe a few sprinkles is really all they need to make them extra special for Christmas, though they are easy enough to make for any occasion…. Or no occasion. Sometimes you just need a cookie!"

I obviously don't get out much. I thought the only type of sugar cookies were ones that had to be rolled and cut. These sound wonderful, and simple. I like the idea of it being a recipe you can customize, adding a citrus zest for a brighter flavor. These would probably be great with a cream cheese frosting too.

I like putting sour cream in my sugar cookies. The cookies just don't seem so dry with with addition of it. I have had lots of dry tasteless Christmas cookies in my day. But, this recipe seems to have an awful lot of flour to only get two dozen cookies. Even if they are big cookies. Also the sugar amount seems high. Is two cups of sugar right?
