Unforgettable Slow Cooker Chinese Chicken
You may actually be surprised at how perfectly this recipe for takeout fakeout turns out! Unforgettable Slow Cooker Chinese Chicken is a recipe for General Tso's chicken that's made in the slow cooker, so the sauce thickens and adds flavor to the chicken. The chicken pieces are browned before being put in the slow cooker, so they remain perfectly crispy! Serve this Chinese chicken over rice for a dish you definitely won't forget.

I love Chinese food and I love my slow cooker. There is nothing better than coming home to all those wonderful smells. This Chinese chicken looks really scrumptious and I can't wait to make it. My mouth is watering thinking about making it right now. This is also an easy recipe to put together which is always good!

I just got a slow cooker recently, so I am looking for new and exciting recipes to make using a slow cooker. This recipe looks amazing and has so many things in it that both my husband and I love. If I leave out the sugar, will that affect the recipe greatly? If so, can you recommend a substitute? I am trying to cut back on sugar and 1/2 a cup of sugar is more than I really want to use.

I would not recommend cutting out the sugar completely since the dish is meant to have a sweetness to it. You could try cutting it in half. I have down that with many recipes and that works well. If you are cutting sugar, coconut sugar is a good alternative. It doesn't raise your blood sugar like white granulated sugar does.

I agree not to cut out the sugar completely as sugar is a pretty important ingredient in most Asian sauces. I also agree to cut it in half- you could try the coconut sugar that was suggested or even brown sugar. Regardless of the type, sugar is basically still sugar so you can always half your own portion size of the chicken and have more veggies/side items!
