Hunter's Chicken
I'm no lawyer. I'm no doctor. I'm no superhero. But I can make a real tasty chicken. You don't have to be anything to make Hunter's Chicken, but when you're family tastes it, they'll think you're everything. This great, slow cooker recipe will make them appreciate you for who you are.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 bell peppers, sliced
- 1 onions, sliced
- 1 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 chicken
- 1 teaspoon oregano leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon basil leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme leaves
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1 can (6-ounces) mushrooms, sliced
- 1 can (8-ounces) tomatoes
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Sliced fresh mushrooms are best, although you can use canned. Brown bell pepper, onion, and garlic in oil in skillet. Also brown mushrooms, if using fresh.
- Place whole chicken in slow cooker; add seasonings and vegetables, topping with vegetables from skillet. Add wine. Cook until done.
- Remove chicken to warmed platter (in 200-degree oven). Add water to cornstarch and salt and stir to a paste, then add to slow cooker mixture and cook until slightly thickened and bubbly. Spoon sauce over chicken.
