As much as I love this version, I have to leave out the nuts. My daughter is allergic. I could add peanuts. Do you think honey roasted or plain would work best for this dessert? I think the honey roasted would pair well with the other flavors without being too overpowering.

This seems like a cross between what I've always called a waldorf salad, and an ambrosia. Waldorf has a more savory dressing and ingredients. Ambrosia historically has a sweet dressing. I've never thought to add other fruits. This may have to make an appearance at my house. I'm curious how the sour cream and whipped topping will jive.
