    Goan Style Fried Tofu

    Instructions

    • 1 pound fried tofu
    • 1-inch piece ginger, chopped
    • 8 cloves garlic, peeled.
    • 1 1/2 cups water.
    • 4 tablespoons peanut oil
    • 6 medium onions peeled and chopped
    • 1 hot chili peppers, sliced in rounds
    • 1/2 teaspoon tumeric
    • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
    • 1/2 fresh coconut, grated
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt

     

    1. Blend garlic and ginger. Add half of the water and blend until smooth.
       
    2. Heat oil in a large pan. When hot add onion and fry until translucent.
       
    3. Now add the paste from the blender with chillies, tumeric, and. cumin and fry for 1 minute.
       
    4. Add coconut, salt and remainder of. water.
       
    5. Bring to boil. Add the tofu, mix well. Bring to boil. Cover and lower heat. Serve immediately.
