Butter Kuchen (butter Cake)

Ingredients

  • 16 oz.s sour cream
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 lb. powdered sugar
  • 2 small packages sliced almonds

Instructions

Mix sour cream, granulated sugar, eggs and flour. Spread into 2 oblong cake pans, greased. Put on high rack in oven and bake at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes. Melt the butter and stir in powdered sugar. Take cake out of oven and spread the butter and powdered sugar mixture on top of it. Sprinkle a small package of sliced almonds onto each.Bake for another 15 minutes.
