German Slow Cooker Beef
When you get tired of all of your old slow cooker beef recipes, try something new with German Slow Cooker Beef. This recipe is a version of the classic German Sauerbraten with Spaetzle noodles. However, it has a little twist. The gravy on top of the beef is actually made with ginger snaps to lend it a surprisingly sweet and spicy flavor. You may think it sounds weird at first, but it actually complements the other flavors in the dish extremely well. This is one of the ultimate German beef recipes that will make your family sit up and pay attention when you say it's dinner time!

I have never before heard of ginger snap gravy, have you? Well, let me tell you that it absolutely spectacularly scrumptious! It is so good that I almost lost interest in the food and just wanted more and more gravy, lol! But seriously, the beef was very very good, succulent and tasty and then (like I have already said) there is that incredible gravy. YUMMM!

I have never had Sauerbraten. It looks and sounds good. Gingersnaps is a surprise ingredient. Does it matter what size the cookies are? Does it matter if they are homemade or does a certain brand taste better? I am very intrigued by this recipe. I have never had spaetzle either so I will just make some homemade noodles for it.

Being German, I love a good Sauerbraten. Jamie's recipe using the slow cooker and stewing beef may be a bit peculiar and certainly not a traditional German recipe, but it sounds good. I love using my slow cooker, so I'm putting this recipe on my to-do list, especially for those days when I'm in a hurry to leave the house in the morning and want to come home to a quick dinner. Thanks, Jamie!
