I Love Souvlaki. Traditionally it is made with pieces of pork, chicken, or lamb This Marvelous Meatball Souvlaki is truly an interesting twist on a classic, and delivers all the wonderful Greek flavors that you expect. In answer to Edmund K, yes I have substitute pork for the turkey and it was Great! I actually prefer it that way.

I've always loved Greek food, and this sounds like a recipe I would love to try. The meatballs sound especially tasty and I plan to make up a bunch and freeze them for later use. I've usually used a combo of ground beef and ground pork, so I'm not used to using ground turkey. Has anyone made this with pork instead of turkey?

The ingredients somewhat remind me of a gyro, but turkey is more economical than lamb. The sauce sounds very refreshing. I am sure this is a meal that my husband would love. I may even try making the homemade pitas to go along with it.

I wonder why this recipe was named Marvelous Meatball Souvlaki when in fact the original Greek souvlaki are pieces of meat - pork, chicken or lamb- grilled on a skewer. This Marvelous Meatball Souvlaki looks so delicious and flavorful, the ground meat looks finely ground and properly shaped. Everything's almost to perfection. However, I'm giving this a 3-star rating because it is not appropriately labelled. Thank you.
