    Hawaiian Hamburger Steaks

This recipe for Hawaiian Hamburger Steaks is a copycat recipe from a restaurant in Hawaii. It was voted one of the best hamburger steaks on the island. This one-pot, 30 minute meal is perfect to make during the week. The outside crust is delicious and the inside is moist and full of flavor. Top off the steaks with homemade gravy, and you'll be in Hawaiian heaven. Serve with mashed potatoes, your favorite greens, and, of course, a slice of pineapple.

Wow. I can imagine the sex goddess Marilyn Monroe eating Hawaiian Hamburger Steaks. Maybe on days that she can afford to indulge on her favorite, she doesn't want to miss her favorite hamburgers. I know she has to watch her figure so I guess she needs a lot of protein, not carbs and fatty food.

Over the summer, I was organizing a large Hawaiian luau themed lunch for a few hundred people and I wish I had seen this recipe sooner! I would probably serve this hamburger steak on a sweet Hawaiian roll also. I'm thinking a nice light cheese would be good on the burgers, too. Any suggestions for a cheese that would pair well with this dish?

This looks really tasty, though I confess to thinking from the title that it was going to incorporate pineapple into the meat given the Hawaiian in the name of the dish. I'm not a huge fan of rosemary, so I think I'd use oregano or basil instead in making the burger mix. The caramelized onions (one of my wife's favorites) is a great addition to this easy dish. I could see making these into sandwiches using Kings Hawaiian rolls, but a bed of rice or noodles would be good as well.

I'd never think to serve a burger over mashed potato or rice but this has some definite appeal to me as I love Hawaii and I am looking forward to being there this summer. I love carmelized onions and any kind of gravy so this is going to be tops on my meal planning list this week.
