Pasta with Ham (or Smoked Turkey) & Peas
This pasta with ham (or smoked turkey) & peas recipe is fantastic for using some left over ham or turkey and making a delicious meal at the same time. This recipe comes from our friends at Al Dente Pasta, and we guarantee you'll love it!
Ingredients
- 12 ounces Al Dente Pasta of your choice
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup evaporated low-fat milk or half and half
- 10 ounces frozen peas
- 8 ounces thickly sliced ham (or smoked turkey) cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat.
- Add ham or turkey stirring until heated.
- Add half and half and simmer gently.
- Meanwhile, put pasta in boiling, salted water.
- Add peas after 2 minutes to cook along with pasta. When is pasta is cooked and "al dente," drain.
- Over medium heat, toss pasta and peas with ham mixture and Parmesan until thickened.
