    Pasta with Ham (or Smoked Turkey) & Peas

    This pasta with ham (or smoked turkey) & peas recipe is fantastic for using some left over ham or turkey and making a delicious meal at the same time. This recipe comes from our friends at Al Dente Pasta, and we guarantee you'll love it!

    Ingredients

    • 12 ounces Al Dente Pasta of your choice
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • 1 cup evaporated low-fat milk or half and half
    • 10 ounces frozen peas
    • 8 ounces thickly sliced ham (or smoked turkey) cut into cubes
    • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
    • Salt and pepper

    Instructions

    1. Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. 
       
    2. Add ham or turkey stirring until heated. 
       
    3. Add half and half and simmer gently.
       
    4. Meanwhile, put pasta in boiling, salted water. 
       
    5. Add peas after 2 minutes to cook along with pasta.  When is pasta is cooked and "al dente," drain. 
       
    6. Over medium heat, toss pasta and peas with ham mixture and Parmesan until thickened.
