Pizza Bianca
"I thought pizza bianca was something I once created when I forgot to put tomato sauce on my pizza. If you think, as with most things, there is more to pizza bianca than just forgetting to put tomatoes on it, you’re wrong. There’s actually LESS to it. You need to leave out the tomato sauce, the cheese, ham, olives and the pineapple. That’s right: pizza bianca is BARE.It’s flatbread, chewy and crispy, dripping a little with olive oil and crunchy a lot with salt flakes. You can stick a slice of prosciutto and/or cheese onto a torn square to fashion a slider alla romana."

I looked this up because my cousin's name is Bianca - LOL. She doesn't like to cook! So this recipe is definitely for her as there is nothing to it! All that aside I like this idea which I compare to foccacia bread which is nice to eat as a pre-dinner snack with some drinks. Top it with a bit of Parmesan or minced garlic before popping in the oven.

Pizza bianca reminds me of the food in France! I was shocked (and shocked so many others) when I bragged about how the pizza was the best food I had in Paris! There is something about salty ham on top of pizza that is so wonderful. Plus, you can always add a few fried or over easy eggs on there for even more enjoyment!

I don't know that I would serve this pizza for dinner, but it would make a wonderful accompaniment to a homemade soup for lunch, or even as an appetizer! I might serve a little bit of marinara or alfredo on the side for dunking, for those that think a sauce - less pizza is a little strange.
