    Irish Oatmeal Bread

    Ingredients

    • 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
    • 1 1/4 cup quick rolled oats
    • 1 1/2 tablespoon baking power
    • 1 tablespoon salt
    • 1 egg
    • 1/4 cup honey
    • 1 1/2 cup milk
    • 1 tablespoon butter (cover bread 1/4 hour before finish baking)

    Instructions

    Preheat oven to 350F (lighter bread if baked at 375F first 20 minutes). Grease well bread pan. In large bowl, mix flour, oats, baking power, and salt. In a medium bowl, with egg beater, beat honey, egg and milk to mix well Pour the mixture together, mix with wooden spoon until mixture is moist. Spread batter in pan, bake one hour 14 minutes or until crusty and tester inserted comes out clean. Remove from oven and pan. Cover with butter above and let set.
