Old Fashioned Apple Loaf
A family favorite, Old Fashioned Apple Loaf reminds me of simpler times with the folks. This recipe pays homage to the classic by being exactly like it. Sweetbreads are always a treat for the family any time of the year.

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- dash ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 2/3 cup chunky applesauce
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup oil
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 4 tablespoons pecans, chopped
- 4 teaspoons margarine
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat 350 degrees F.
- Mix all of the loaf ingredients together. Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan.
- Mix the topping ingredients together in a small bowl using a fork. Sprinkle topping down the center of the loaf. Bake for 35-45 mins until knife pulls out cleanly.

I made the loaf, but it was really dry. I added 1/4 cup of water then I was able to pour it in my pan. It was delicious!
