Almond Celery

Ingredients
- 2 cups celery, sliced diagonally in 1/8 inch slices
- Salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 tablespoon chives, chopped
- 1/2 tablespoon onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/4 cup cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/3 cup almonds, toasted
Instructions
- In a medium pan, sprinkle celery with salt and pepper. Add butter, cover and cook over low heat until tender, stirring a couple of times, about 15 minutes.
- Uncover pan, sprinkle with chives, onion and flour, mix well and cook a few minutes stirring. Add cream and broth. Cook, stirring constantly, until heated through and thickened. Add almonds and serve.
