Onion Strings
"Who would have ever thought that something so simple could be so good! If you gave me the choice I’d pick Onion Strings over french fries any day of the week. They were so absolutely amazing I never forgot them. They had to be made again, and they were. The nice thing about this recipe is that half of it can be made ahead of time. After the onion is sliced thin they soak in buttermilk for at least an hour or longer if you want them to, before they’re dredged in the flour mixture and fried. Think about the Spring and Summer BBQ season coming up and how good these onion strings would be with a flame broiled burger sitting next to it. "
