Your grandma put bacon in her beef and beans? I would be jealous, but since you shared the recipe, I am going to head out to get some bacon. I want to make this for dinner tonight because I have been looking for a good and hot hamburger dinner to make that we haven't had recently. This one is perfect.

Hearty, very tasty and such a satisfying dish. We left out the pork with beans (because we did not have any) and we added a chopped fresh garlic clove for flavor. Because we had ours as a meal (not a side dish) we had it with some fresh, crusty Italian bread from our local magic baker. We all loved it and will be definitely be returning to this recipe.

This recipe is fantastic! Every time I have ever made it, I get nothing but raves. I first got a similar recipe from a sorority sister in Ohio many years ago. I have taken it to many outings and occasions all year long. No matter when I take it, I am asked for the recipe. It is so easy, I hate to give my secret away!! It cannot be made wrong. Use your favorite beans and I use mushrooms rather than onion as my husband is allergic to them. When you make it, I dont think youll be disappointed.
