Meat Loaf
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 1 egg
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 1 T dried onion
Instructions
Mix all ingredients together and form into loaf shape. Bake at 400 degrees for 45-60 minutes. Often I add something else, 3/4 cup grated cheddar or corn, 1/2 cup sunflower meats, or some spices like cayenne or paprika to taste.

This is a very basic meatloaf recipe that would be good for a beginner cook, or if you like to add ingredients to recipes according to your preferences. For a healthier version of this recipe, I would use lean ground beef or turkey, and no salt added tomato sauce. I would also include for additional flavor, chopped garlic, ground mustard, sage, and low sodium Worcestershire sauce. Barbecue sauce would make a delicious topping for the meatloaf.
