Panettone Italian Christmas Bread
Authentic traditional Italian Christmas bread, studded with dried fruit and candied peel, fragrant, fluffy and festive. It's yeasted sweet dough, admittedly requires a bit of an effort and a few hours mixing and waiting but it's the best thing you can bake for Christmas. It keeps surprisingly well and when a few days' old it is amazing toasted and buttered. Once you've mastered the technique, it makes the best ever Christmas gift. And it's the best thing ever to have for Christmas Day breakfast!

My mom LOVES this bread. She always buys a loaf for Christmas, but I think I'll surprise her with a homemade one instead.

I love panettone. I have even frozen it before and then toasted from frozen. It works well. It's not more effort than baking bread yourself. I think it's an excellent idea to make as a gift as it's so personal and shows you went to a lot of effort. I would love to make this for someone special and the whole family can share in it too. I am willing to give this a try.
