Is this really the recipe Katherine Hepburn would have used? I love that it is really easy to make and takes a minimal amount of items to make. I plan to make them soon. I want to share them with my mom and see what she thinks about them compared to her brownie recipe.

This is Katharine Hepburn's Brownies are probably Kate's original . It looks moist and and very inviting. I love it.

What a deliciously easy way to make brownies from scratch. I like that it makes a small pan for a small family. These will be wonderful, warm out of the oven, with vanilla ice cream. I love brownies way more than chocolate cake. I'm sure I've never made brownies from scratch.

When I was looking at this recipe, my wife commented that it was reminiscent of Lady Bird Johnson's brownie recipe. A Google search turned it up, and while similar, there are some differences in the ratios of the ingredients, plus pecans are used instead of walnuts. I think I might substitute chopped almonds in place of the walnuts, but that's just because I love chocolate and almonds. We haven't tried either version, and we're curious to do so and compare them.
