I just love the combination of dark chocolate and peppermint, and this cake sounds like something I could devour in a single sitting. It's a great holiday treat, though I'd be tempted to make the cake and frosting without the crushed canes for anytime. I appreciate how mistake-proof the recipe is, since I can be a bit klutzy in the kitchen on occasion. Good to read that this recipe is rather hard to completely screw up.

This recipe looks so amazing, and not too difficult. Chocolate and peppermint is a combination that can't be beat, especially at Christmas time! I've never tried making ganache before, so I'm excited to give a whirl! This cake looks so pretty, and no doubt it will taste as good as it looks! Yummy!!!!
