Old-Fashioned Magic Cake
This classic magic cake recipe gets its name from the "magical" batter that creates three distinct layers once baked. Old-Fashioned Magic Cake is a super simple cake recipe that uses mostly ingredients you probably already have on hand. Just mix together the batter, pour it into a pan, and the cake will bake into three layers. The bottom layer is dense, the middle is creamy, and the top is spongy ... it's magic!

This cake is so simple, yet so elegant! From looking at it, I believed there must be some kind of pudding mix involved, but it's just a few normal ingredients (eggs, flour, etc) used in the proper portions! The three unique layers of this cake are really what take it to the next level. So easy can't wait to make it!

I love a cake that cooks into layers. I'll have to try this one. Bringing the eggs to room temperature is very important. The whites will beat up better when they are not cold. I would also suggest folding in the egg whites as opposed to whisking. With folding, there is less of a chance of the egg whites breaking down.
