    Pound Cake

    Ingredients

    • 6 eggs
    • 3 cups sugar
    • 3 cups plain flour
    • 1 cup butter
    • 1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 of small carton of whipping cream

    Instructions

    Let all come to room temperature. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Add 1 cup flour, then 1/2 of whipping cream, then 1 cup flour and rest of whipping cream, then finish with flour. Add flavorings and baking powder. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Start in cold oven at 325 for 1 hour and 15 minutes, check for doneness, cook another 15 minutes if needed. Frosting: 8 oz. cream cheese softened 1/2 stick butter or margarine 1 lb box powdered sugar 1 tsp. vanilla Mix all together, spread on cake, sprinkle with chopped nuts.
