Vintage Cake

This layered white cake with cream cheese frosting would be delicious on its own, but a secret hidden layer takes it right over the top. Vintage Cake is a cake mix recipe for fluffy, moist white cake sitting atop a layer of decadent brownies soaked in a chocolate sauce. The combination of fluffy cake with rich chocolate in this cake will have everyone going back for seconds. Plus, it uses cake mix and brownie mix for shortcut.

I went to the website where the recipe is suppose to be, and it is no longer there - just the comments left by others. Is there any other place to find this particular recipe?

This Vintage Cake is absolutely beautiful, not to mention divinely tasty. I went the easy way and used the boxed cake and brownie mixes, but it in no way diminished the quality and taste of this wonderful cake. It is so elegant looking, and the chocolate soaked brownie layer is a real bonus. I'm thinking of making this for the holidays, maybe with some red and green sprinkles for Christmas, or those little silver balls for the New Year's Eve.

This is such a good cake. I made this with my own cake recipe, and my own brownie recipe. I don't know why I never thought of using them together before! This is a genius idea! First of all, the look of this is so elegant. It amazed everyone at my dinner party. After you get past the look, the taste is just so incredible, it's almost impossible just to eat one piece. After all of my guests left, I ate another piece of this cake. That's how good this is!

This recipe looks so delicious! It is really elegant looking, where I'm guessing the "Vintage" came from. I usually like to make my cakes and desserts from scratch, so I would probably make the cake and brownie layer homemade - I'm guessing the results would be the same? It's great to have the option of the quick bake for when you're in a rush. This would be a wonderful dessert to make for a special occasion or to bring to a party or potluck!

This looks good. Not sure why the author linked to someone else's recipes to make it. I do have plenty of brownie and cake recipes I could use to do this. That, along with a marvelous chocolate sauce recipe. It is a great idea. You could even pair the brownie base with a peanut butter cake.

I clicked link and looked at this recipe, and the author did include links in the ingredients of her homemade cake mix and also homemade brownie mix for the bottom layer. The use of boxed ingredients I think was just meant to be a suggestion for people who want to do it more quickly and with less steps.

I am not sure about this cake? Sure I love chocolate brownies and white cake, but I was hoping for the actual written recipes for the vintage cake for this like the name says. Buying a box mix isn't Vintage. With that being said, I think this would be delicious. For the brownie part I would poke small wholes with a toothpick in the brownie then pour the sauce over it so it can soak in. Most brownies will have a slight crust like over the top after baking. I will play this this recipe and hope it works out. Thank you so much for this free recipe.

This cake looks so fancy, but is actually really simple. I think it would make a beautiful grown up birthday cake or special occasion dessert.
