Ingredients
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick)butter, cut into pieces
- 2 cups cut-up cooked turkey
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 cup julienne strips red bell pepper
- 1 can (4-ounces) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
- 1 cup julienne strips spinach
Instructions
Biscuits
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
- Add 1/3 cup of butter, cut into pieces, into pastry blender. Add 1 1/2 cups of flour, 1 1/12 tsp of baking powder, 1 tsp. of garlic salt. Blend until mixture resembles small peas.
- Add 1/3 cup of milk until dough forms a ball.
- Knead on lightly floured surface 5 to 7 times. Roll or pat dough 1/2 inch thick. cut with floured 2-inch cutter.
- Put Aside.
Main Dish
- Heat butter in a 2-quart casserole dish in the oven until butter is melted. Stir in remaining ingredients except spinach and biscuits. Bake 20 minutes, stirring once, until sauce is slightly thickened.
- Stir in Spinach.
- Place biscuit dough around edge of casserole and bake additional 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
