I love beef stroganoff, and this recipe has a few features that are completely new to me. Like others have noted, the use of ginger ale is certainly unusual. I might try it that way, but I normally would add a bit of red wine instead of a soda. I was interested to see a suggestion for Coke or Sprite in place of the ginger ale. This is an interesting slow cooker version of beef stroganoff and I'll definitely give this one a try.

This is a different version of beef stroganoff. I don't know about the addition of ginger ale, but I know some slow cooker recipes do add some kind of cola. I've seen some stroganoff recipes with ground beef, but I prefer the ones with stew cubes, to make the meal heartier. I always serve stroganoff with wide egg noodles.

If I use fresh mushrooms instead of canned, how much fresh should I use. Normally, I use 8 ounces in a batch of Beef Stroganoff, but I want to be sure. I am not sure about the addition of gingerale. Lots of things work in recipes that I wonder about though.
