Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pound stew meat, cubed
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 cups hot water
- 15 ounces tomato sauce
- 1 onion, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon basil
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 potatoes, cubed
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 2 celery ribs, sliced
Instructions
- Place meat, flour, salt and pepper in a paper bag and shake until coated.
- Heat oil in a skillet and brown meat on all sides. Place meat cubes in a slow cooker, along with the water, tomato sauce, onion, basil, bay leaf, potatoes, carrots, and celry. Stir, cover, and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
