Patriotic Trifle
"I have a love-hate relationship with holiday desserts. They’re so much fun but they take so much time that I’d rather spend with my family! I’m always looking for a dessert like this patriotic trifle that is decorative and on-theme without taking too much time. If you don’t have a food processor, all you’ll need is a bag and a rolling pin to crush up the graham crackers. Place the crackers in the bag and seal it tight. It takes a little more work but it works just as well! "

Cooking MethodNo Bake
Ingredients
- (8-ounce) cream cheese (1 package), softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- (8-ounce) whipped topping, thawed
- 4-5 graham crackers
- red and blue food coloring
- Sprinkles, optional
-
To make your cheesecake trifle, start by adding the softened cream cheese to a large mixing bowl.
-
Use a hand mixer to beat the cream cheese for a few minutes until it’s fluffy. Add the sugar and beat the mixture again until it’s well combined.
-
Use a rubber spatula to gently fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture just until it’s smooth.
-
Now it’s time to add the patriotic trifle twist! Separate the cream cheese mixture into 3 bowls. It should be about 1 cup per bowl.
-
Color one bowl with red food coloring, one bowl with blue food coloring, and keep the last bowl plain white.
-
Cover the colored mixtures and place them in the fridge for 30 minutes to chill.
-
While your cheesecake filling chills, crush the graham crackers in a food processor. Set the crumbs aside.
-
Spoon the red cheesecake filling evenly into 4 small jars.
-
Add a layer of graham cracker crumbs on top.
-
Repeat with the white and blue layers and decorate with whipped topping and sprinkles!
