Mountain dew? Now, that is an unexpected ingredient. I have seen many soda cake recipes, so I guess this is similar. The syrupy flavor will pair well with apples. Lemon juice is always a good preservative for apple slices, and you can never taste it in the end, so I think this sounds really tasty.

Well I can tell this recipe will be super sweet, but I love apple recipes in the fall. I can just smell the apples and cinnamon baking! I'll give this a try. Will the caffeine in the Mountain Dew make me jittery?! No, just the high sugar content will. And of course, I will want to eat this with vanilla ice cream...

OK, I'll bite. I'm wondering exactly what Mountain Dew brings to this. I'm familiar with recipes that incorporate Coca-Cola, but cooking with Dew is something I haven't encountered before. Our son is visiting us and he drinks a lot of Mountain Dew (neither my wife or I do) so I may borrow some of his and give this a try. I like the idea of wrapping the apple inside the crescent roll and I do want to experiment with that idea.
