Homemade Apple Jam
Gifts in a jar aren't just for dry mixes...you can easily can and give your own Homemade Apple Jam this year! This recipe for apple jam is super easy to make and tastes great on toast or honey bread.
Ingredients
- 4 1/2 pounds apples, peeled and sliced
- 2 cups water
- 1 1.75-ounce package of Sure-Jell Premium Fruit Pectin
- 5 cups granulated sugar
Instructions
- In a large pot, cook apples with water and Sure-Jell for 11 minutes; add sugar and bring to hard rolling boil.
- Let cool, stirring 1 to 2 minutes. Put in sterilized hot jars and seal with lids.
- The current USDA recommendations are to process the jam in a hot water bath for 5 minutes.
