Banana Pudding

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • dash of salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 5 medium bananas
  • vanilla wafers

Instructions

Combine 1/2 cup of sugar with flour and salt in pan (best in double boiler) Mix in 1 whole egg and 3 egg yolks(save the whites), stir in milk, cook until thickened, remove from heat, add vanilla. While this is cooking, layer bananas and vanilla wafers in small rectangle buttered (for one receipt) Pyrex dish. (keep on stirring the custard though). When custard is ready pour it over the bananas and wafers. Beat egg whites until stiff and add remaining 1/4 cup sugar. spread over pudding and brown at 400 for 5-10 minutes.
