I've always like the Noland's recipes, and this is no exception. It's a great idea to use the crescent roll dough as a base for this, and I appreciate the tip about salting and draining the roma tomatoes before adding to the recipe. I could see experimenting with some different meats and cheeses with this. One thought that immediately came to mind was using some thinly sliced roast beef in place of the ham. Some Havarti cheese would also work well for this.
