I must admit that before today I had never heard of "Croque Momsieurs", mini or otherwise. I understand that in English they are simply called Ham and Cheese sandwiches with Bechamel Sauce. Well, whatever you call them, they are absolutely delicious. The buttery bread, creamy sauce, and combination of Ham and Smoked Gruyere Cheese with a hint of Dijon Mustard is absolutely divine. Whatever the occasion, these Mini Croque Monsieurs are a must, or as they say in Paris...they are "tres bon".

These Mini Croque Monsieurs look so delicious and they are easy to prepare. I think for an easier way, you may toast the bread in a toaster instead of baking them. It says that in English, this recipe is called Ham and Cheese with Bechamel Sauce. Now, I assume that the sauce indicated here that's made from scratch is Bechamel sauce. I'm happy I learned to make this sauce from scratch because I've always used the canned Bechamel sauce. I can't wait to make these finger food. It is simple, presentable, and very light.
