Orange & Ginger Sauce Recipe
"A delicious orange and ginger sauce recipe for any type of cake and sweets. This sweet and tangy homemade sauce recipe is an excellent accompaniment to chocolate pie recipes too! You can use coconut sugar or brown sugar instead of regular granulated white sugar. However, the sauce will be much darker and sweeter. You need to let it boil for 12 minutes. This will prevent crystals from forming. If your syrup crystallizes in the bottom of the bottle, either: the proportion of sugar to water is too high or the mixture wasn’t heated long enough. Any sugar crystals remaining in the syrup can cause others to crystallize."

- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 6 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups boiling water
- 2 tablespoons grated ginger
- Zest of one medium orange
