What makes a scone a scone? I am not a big fan of maple flavoring because most dishes with it have too over powering of a flavor and tastes basically like eating pancake syrup. I would much rather have an apple cinnamon, or banana nut flavoring for a breakfast scone. These do look yummy so I might cave and make these but just with lesson maple syrup.

These are delicious. I've had maple scones before at a local festival, though those weren't made with pecans, which is a nice addition. When I make these, I might try using walnuts instead. The glaze is a nice added touch and really kicks up the maple flavor. They're really great with a hot cup of tea or coffee. If you like scones, you'll love these.

I love a glaze on a scone. It just makes it extra special. I think these will go down well in my house and a mid-afternoon snack. I don't like to make a fuss for lunches and the kids pretty much help themselves which means they are often hungry a little later on so these are perfect.

Maple and pecans just go together don't they? And scones are pretty good, no matter what. I just tried making another type of scone a few months ago and realized what I had been missing. This is my kind of breakfast. A scone and some tea.
