Corn Meal Sour Cream Biscuits
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
Combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, salt and soda. Mix together shortening, sour cream and egg, and then add to dry ingredients. Pat out dough and cut with biscuit cutter. Mix sesame seeds and butter together and spread on top before baking. Bake at 400 or 425 degrees.

I enjoy the crispness cornmeal gives to a recipe and I would like to make these biscuits but how long do I leave them in the oven? Bake at 400 or 425 degress, that is a big difference in degrees, please explain. Tania
