This is quite possibly the best potato dish I have ever had! The cream cheese, Ranch dressing, soup and cheese combine into a sublime sauce and although I was concerned that the potatoes may go mooshy during the long slow cooking they were fine. We all loved it and this morning the children wanted to know if there was any left over for their breakfast. No, because we ate it all last night!

Mmmmmm these potatoes look very appetizing. You can leave them cooking whilst you are at work then when you come home fry a piece of steak or chicken breast and you have a meal. And what a great meal it would be. I would put some of that sauce over the meat as well. I'm smacking my lips just thinking about it.

I feel so silly because I never thought of doing potatoes in the slow cooker before! I was worried that the texture might be mushy, but I'm glad to see that other commenters say they do retain a bit of bite, which is what I was hoping for. I'm wondering if you could change the flavour up a bit by witching out the can of cream of potato soup. I'm thinking that cream of cheddar soup would be amazing in this recipe! I'm really looking forward to trying this one. I bet it would be great on cold winter nights to warm me up.

Comfort food to the max. My boyfriend is a potato, cheese, and ranch lover so we'll definitely need to try these! Thank you for the comment about the texture because that was a worry of mine too! No one wants mushy potatoes when they're supposed to be crispy and have some bite.

I was sort of hesitant to try these for fear they would get to mushy for that length of time. Thankfully I was pleasantly surprised. I am getting to the point of needing more than one crock pot at a time. I think this recipe has a lot of options you can with it, which is always an added plus.
