Burt's Barbecue Meatballs
Made with ground beef and bulk pork sausage, these meatballs are sure to please a hungry family or dinner party. This homemade meatball recipe goes great with mashed potatoes and a fresh garden salad.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 pound bulk pork sausage
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 2 cups dry bread crumbs
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1/4 cup onion, minced
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- Combine beef, pork, onion, milk, egg, bread crumbs, salt, pepper and allspice.
- Form into 1" balls and cook in a single layer in a 350 degree oven for about 20-30 minutes, or until browned, Remove and drain.
- Cook onion in oil till tender, then add onion, tomato sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, Worchestershire sauce, sugar and dry mustard.
- Simmer for about 10 minutes, then place meatballs in a slow cooker and pour sauce over and keep warm.
