Amish Apple Goodie
An Apple Goodie is actually the Amish version of the old-fashioned apple crisp dessert. It is made from scratch and baked to perfection using juicy apples, butter, cinnamon sugar, and an outstanding oatmeal streusel topping. Even if you're a pie crust kind of gal, this is the best apple crisp topping you will ever taste. It is a touch of crunchy and sweet all mixed with those soft cinnamon apple slices. The whole dessert is absolutely wonderful, especially when it is served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. For best results, use Granny Smith apples. This type of sour apple pairs perfectly with the sweet sugar in baked crisps like an Amish Apple Goodie. The simplicity of this Amish Apple Goodie will definitely make it become a long-time family favorite.

I think Granny Smith apples are the only ones to use in a baked dessert, don't you? I know sometimes the Gala and MacIntosh are sweeter, but I just love the tartness of the Granny Smith mixed with brown sugar and a crunchy topping or crust. I think this dessert will be a great idea for a Friday evening with the hubby.
