Doughnut Strawberry Shortcake with Bourbon Whipped Cream
"I love Oregon strawberries, but I wanted something a little different as a base for my strawberry shortcake this year. It turns out that glazed doughnuts are perfect! Toasting them in a skillet gives a little crunch to the dish, and the bourbon whipped cream is a perfect topping for the sweet berries. After prepping the strawberries, this dessert takes very little time to put together, but your guests will be wowed. It will be hard to go back to biscuits or cake after tasting this!"

Is there a way to make this recipe a little lighter than by using an entire cup of cream? I love the recipe, I think it sounds fantastic, but I am a little unsure of the fat content of this doughnut. The 2 pints of strawberries is a great way to get some fruit into your diet even when you are eating badly.
