This sounds delicious! I'm a fan of cakes that incorporate a bit of alcohol and this really is attractive. The recipe just calls for rum and I'm curious if anyone has tried this with one of the spiced rums currently available. I'm also wondering if I could simply pour the rum syrup over the cake and let it set for a bit rather than returning it to the pan, adding the syrup and waiting overnight. This looks so good that I don't think I could wait that long!
