Basic Butter Biscuits
Forget the stress this Christmas when deciding what to serve for Christmas dinner with these Basic Butter Biscuits. They're simple and delicious!
Notes
- High altitude (3500-6500 feet): Preheat oven to 475 degrees F.
- Stir 1/4 cup all-purpose flour into baking mix.
- Bake about 11 minutes.

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine, chilled
- 2 1/2 cups baking mix
- 2/3 cup milk
- butter or margarine, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
- Cut firm butter into 1/4-inch pieces. Toss baking mix and butter pieces with fork until coated. Add milk; stir just until milk is absorbed (do not over-stir).
- Turn dough onto surface dusted with baking mix. Knead 5 times. Pat to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with 3-inch cutter.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet with sides touching for soft sides or 2 inches apart for crispy sides.
- Bake about 9 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with melted butter.
